Medication Information

Parents are asked not to send children to school if they are ill.  If a student has a medical condition that may require emergency action (diabetes, epilepsy, anaphylaxis, asthma etc.), it is important that we have a medical alert planning form to refer to in an emergency.  These forms are available at the school office and it is the parent's responsibility to ensure they are filled out at registration and updated each year.

If medication is to be administered to a student during school hours, parents need to pick up and return a Request for Administration of Medication at School form completed by the prescribing physician. The medication must be provided in the original labeled container and updated as needed.  Medications are kept in the office while school is in session and taken home at the end of the school year. For more information, please contact our school secretary.

NUT AWARE SCHOOL

Our school presently has a number of students who have serious nut allergies. A nut allergy is very different than most other allergies. Reaction to contact (touch, ingestion or even smell) with nuts (other than coconut) can be life threatening. A person could very quickly go into anaphylactic shock (difficulty breathing and possible loss of consciousness). Allergy to bee stings is similar but that caution is seasonal; this allergy is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Please do not send any nut products (peanuts or tree nuts) to school with your child.  Thank you for being "Nut Aware" and helping to ensure the safety of all of our children.
